Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and are involved in all aspects of the organisation

We are keen to take on new volunteers. By volunteering with us you will meet a wide range of people from different cultures, learn new skills and have fun!

Volunteering opportunities: WE CURRENTLY NEED

Fruit and Vegetable
Barras -
Volunteers at fruit and vegetable sessions sell to the public and create a friendly atmosphere by talking with the customers.  We currently need volunteers to help on our Fruit and Veg Barras at St Rollox Church Tuesdays 12pm - 12.45pm; at Possilpark Health Centre on Wednesdays from 9.15am 0 10.30am and at Barmulloch Tenant's Hall, Quarrywood Road on Wednesday from 2.30pm - 3.30pm.If you have a few hours to spare on a Tuesday or a Wednesday please contact volunteer@ngcfi.org.uk or call William or Helen on 0141 558 2600.

Office Adminstrators - if you have experience in office adminstration and have time during Monday to Friday, please contact us. We need help organising and updating our filing systems and records and preparing and sending out invoices.

Healthy Eating Demonstrator

Volunteers will prepare a simple healthy snack to distribute to customers at the fruit and veg sessions, along with information about health and the organisation.

You don't need cooking skills for this but you should enjoy meeting people.

"Grow you own” Garden Project Participants at the garden project are involved in general gardening activities and planning developments for the garden. Participants have also been involved in tasks such as building bird feeders and compost bins. All the fruit and vegetables that are grown are shared out among the participants.

We have two sites- one at Springburn Gardens and one at Hamiltonhill.

Board of Directors
- We are looking to recruit people who are committed to making sure things change for the better for the communities of North Glasgow. If you have the time and the skills in finance, fundraising, nutrition or marketing, please contact us NOW! We need local people who care about their community and want to make an impact to join our Board.  Please call Greig for more information on 0141 558 2500/2600.

Cookery

Volunteers can get involved in helping to facilitate cookery workshops. These run at various times and in various different venues so please get in touch to find out more.
