Who we are

North Glasgow Community Food Initiative, a company limited by guarantee incorporated under the Companies Acts with registered number SC290958 and charity number SC036842 with registered office at St Andrew’s Church Liddesdale Square Milton Glasgow G22 7BT is committed to preserving your privacy. North Glasgow Community Food Initiative works with people across the North areas of Glasgow to empower them to lead practical and sustainable food related activities that improve health and well-being and which support them to build stronger, more cohesive communities.

Your rights

This Transparency Statement explains your privacy rights and how we gather, use and share information about you. You can get in touch with our Data Protection Officer by email at dpo@ngcfi.org.uk or by post at Data Protection Officer, St Andrew’s Church Liddesdale Square Milton Glasgow G22 7BT.

You have the right to object to how we process your personal information. You also have the right to access, correct, sometimes delete and restrict the personal information we use. In addition, you have a right to complain to us and to the data protection regulator.

How we gather personal information

In addition to the information you provide to us directly, we may also collect personal information from third parties who may be able to inform our assessment of your needs. Sometimes, for your safety, we collect personal information from CCTV.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information to ensure we provide you with appropriate support and services, to improve our services, and to meet our statutory obligations such as Health and Safety. Sometimes we need to use sensitive personal information such as medical details to ensure that we give you the best service.

Sharing and transferring personal Information

We share personal information with third parties where needed to provide you with the best support and service. We also share personal information with regulators, and law enforcement where necessary.

Keeping personal information

We keep your personal information securely, whether electronically or in paper format, for as long as we need to for the purposes described below.

  1. Realising our Objectives as a Charitable Organisation: The provision of support, services and opportunities compatible with the objectives of the North Glasgow Community Food Initiative.
  2. We use CCTV in order to maintain a safe environment for those using the facility.

Your consent

Sometimes we need your consent to use your personal information (for example for marketing through the use of a photograph or case study). We won’t always need consent to use personal information – for example if we need it to meet statutory requirements or to perform our obligations in providing agreed support. Where you have given us consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.

Our partners

We want to provide you with the best possible experience when you engage with us, and sometimes this will mean involving one or more of our specialist partners to help us deliver the most appropriate support or service. With your consent, we may share your personal information with specialist partners to ensure that they understand how to support you.
