Finance officer

I have worked with NGCFI since April 2014.

Prior to that that I worked for a large organisation, but was made redundant, when we merged with an even larger organisation. I decided at that time that I would like to work part time with a smaller voluntary organisation and was lucky enough to get this post.

My job is to record all income and expenditure for the organisation and report on this monthly to the board.

We have many streams of funding for several departments, and it is important that this income is recorded against the correct department, and that expenditure is recorded against the correct fund and department.

I also do budgets, and cashflows on an ongoing basis, as our funding streams do change throughout the year.

At the year end I prepare a year end report for our auditors who do the annual accounts. When these are complete and passed by the board, I submit a return to OSCR, which is the regulatory body for charities in Scotland
