Gardening in Royston

Therapeutic/Adult Gardening

Fridays 10am-12pm and 1-3pm.
Germiston Allotments, Royston Rd, Glasgow G21 2DJ.

Are you interested in learning to grow your own fruit or vegetables? Come and join us on our plot in Germiston Allotments and help us to grow tasty fruit and veggies for the community. No experience necessary and all skill-levels welcome!

Our gardening sessions focus on enhancing individual’s overall well-being, building skills, confidence and countering social isolation. Furthermore, valuable skills are gained; as well as a sense of purpose and increased ownership of the community gardens. These sessions are a welcoming space providing support for community members who are grappling with mental ill health such as anxiety, agoraphobia, depression and PTSD; as well as community members in addiction recovery; people with learning difficulties; and people who are neurodivergent.

Young Planters

Teeny Greenies outdoor play group for pre-school age, Thursdays 12-2pm, Germiston Allotments, G21 2DJ.

Young Planters family gardening and outdoor play, primary school age, Thursdays 3:30-5:30pm, Germiston Allotments, G21 2DJ.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

We work with local schools and youth groups to give young people the opportunity to learn how to grow their own produce. From sowing seeds to harvesting crops, we show young people the ropes and let them enjoy the process of gardening. The young planters are also kept busy with tasting new things, nature crafts and wild play. Get in touch to find out about current sessions, or to request new ones.
