Gardening in Royston
Gardening for Wellbeing – for adults
Wednesdays 10am-2pm – lunch included.
Germiston Allotments, Royston Rd, Glasgow G21 2DJ.
Are you interested in learning to grow your own fruit or vegetables? Come and join us on our plot in Germiston Allotments and help us to grow tasty fruit and veggies for the community. No experience necessary and all skill-levels welcome!
Our gardening sessions focus on enhancing individual’s overall well-being, building skills, confidence and countering social isolation. Furthermore, valuable skills are gained; as well as a sense of purpose and increased ownership of the community gardens. These sessions are a welcoming space providing support for community members who are grappling with mental ill health such as anxiety, agoraphobia, depression and PTSD; people with learning difficulties; and people who are neurodivergent.
Teeny Greenies
Outdoor play group for pre-school age.
Thursdays 1:15-2:30pm, Germiston Allotments G21 2DJ, February to November.
Our Teeny Greenies play-groups give local parents/ carers and their wee ones a chance to spend precious time together outdoors in the allotment. We also work with local nurseries to give local children the access to explore our green space.
Activities vary from week to week. All ages welcome, from birth onwards. No need to book – just turn up on the day! The sessions are FREE to attend. Hot home-made soup and fresh fruit are available at every session, and there’s sometimes organic fruit and veg from the allotment to take home.
