Fruity Lulu
FruityLuLu is our community food truck!
This vibrant van has been created to help bring affordable fresh food closer to local communities across North Glasgow, while also providing a flexible space for food, events and community activity.
You may see FruityLuLu popping up at local events, community spaces and neighbourhoods, offering fresh and affordable fruit and vegetables alongside other hot food options.
Why FruityLuLu?
The idea for a mobile food van came directly from community consultation. When we asked local residents whether a mobile fruit and veg / pantry service would be useful, 74% said yes.
When we asked what items would be most useful, the responses were very clear:
Fresh fruit and vegetables were the top priority, and FruityLuLu has been developed with that in mind.

What FruityLuLu Will Offer
At this stage, FruityLuLu will focus on:
The van will bring affordable produce into communities where access to fresh food can be limited.

Designed by the Community
The name and look of the van were chosen by the community. We invited local residents to submit ideas for the name and design and received over 40 entries.
The winning name was FruityLuLu, and several creative design ideas helped shape the final look of the van.
Graphic designer Molly Hankinson (add link Murals | Illustration | Molly Hankinson Visual Artist | United Kingdom) worked with us to develop the community design into a final look.
